2022 - A YEAR TO CELEBRATE
The Fly Pink Hong Kong 2022 was a huge success and culminating in our team placing second runner up for the most funds raised for the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation’s Pinktogether 2022 campaign. We managed to raised more than HKD103000.00 and we are very proud of the teams effort. We also received the award for “Best Dressed” and we would like to thank everyone who wore pink, wore our epaulettes and showed their support by displaying our merchandise.
Every year we try new ideas to raise money and this year was no different.
Due to the ongoing Covid 19 restrictions in place we had to rethink our Pink Walk and consequently created a Virtual 12km Fun Run/Walk event that was well supported. We created a customized medal featuring pink ribbons and the beloved Star Ferry, designed by our team member Christina Ho, that has a dual purpose of being a bottle opener afterwards so we can continue a non-waste culture.
We also were fortunate to have new external collaborators joining our team and who donated a portion of their sales towards the Fly Pink Hong Kong campaign. This included The Headland Hotel, Aitch Biltong and WaxDash. The Headland Hotel made pink cupcakes that were sold at Cafe Delight on The Street in Cathay City. Aitch Biltong provided a range of Biltong products (South African spiced & air dried beef) and WaxDash provided a range of custom made aromatic candles for Fly Pink, all of which were sold at the Fly Pink table in the Street. Aitch Biltong and WaxDash also donated products towards our spot prizes for our Virtual Walk. Finally, the CX Online Shop reached out to partner with us. They sold selected products on their store, together with Fly Pink merchandise, and then donated a portion of the proceeds towards the Fly Pink campaign.
This year we also added more products to our merchandise table and this included Bamboo crew socks, reusable shopping bags, water bottles and customized crew tags. We extended our aeroplane pin range by adding a custom made A350 Pink Ribbon keyring as well.
Finally, we were able to create a video in English, in conjunction with the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation, explaining the wonderful work they do for women in Hong Kong and how Fly Pink Hong Kong is playing our part.
